Word Problem Fun!
We have been learning about addition and subtraction problems as well as problem solving strategies. After working on addition, we completed an exit ticket (word problem). If we correctly solved the problem AND showed our work using BUCK we got to pop a balloon!
As SPT comes to a close...
While comparing and contrasting the Sarah, Plain and Tall book and movie, we ate delicious stew and bread (just like Sarah made for the family)!
Watch out for the Big BAD Blow-Dryer!
In science, while learning about the properties of matter, we changed objects by cutting and folding. After reading, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, we had the task of building a house (notecards and tape) sturdy enough to withstand the BIG BAD BLOW-DRYER! After several days of building, the BIG BAD BLOW-DRYER came and only one house stayed in its place.
Place Value Kahoot Champs!
We used Kahoot to practice place value. We love Kahoot because we earn points for correct answers and how speedy we respond. Mrs. Patten loves Kahoot because it instantly gives her feedback on how well we know what we're working on.
QR Codes
In math, we used QR codes to check our work after ordering numbers from least to greatest. We LOVE using technology in class.
Cybersafety
During Cybersafety Week, we learned about ways to stay safe on the internet. Check out our Internet Rules, information that should be "locked up" and not shared with anyone, and double bubble comparing the way bullying and cyber bullying are alike and different.
Hay Dune Fun
In Sarah, Plain and Tall, Papa built a hay dune to make Sarah happy. After reading about this experience, our class wrote our own stories about hay dune fun!
